About Imara XDR Salmon Shades Impatiens

Imara® XDR Salmon Shades is a named seed selection of Impatiens walleriana in the Imara XDR series. Syngenta lists product 70078043 with salmon shades, a mounding habit, a 10–12-inch height and spread, flowering from late spring through summer, and full-to-part shade. [Syngenta Flowers](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70078043). ## Landscape use The compact habit suits containers, hanging baskets, or grouped use in shaded landscape beds. The breeder lists packs, containers, hanging baskets, and landscapes for the series, making this selection useful in both patio planters and shaded beds. ## Growing conditions Site it in partial to full shade. Keep soil moist but well drained, with organic matter; NC State notes that walleriana may wilt in hot, dry spells and need extra water, while overwatering can cause rot. Syngenta lists this exact selection for USDA zones 9a–11a and notes that the XDR series is highly resistant to downy mildew, but not immune. See the [NC State Extension species profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/impatiens-walleriana/) for general cultural guidance. ## Maintenance Water during hot, dry weather and maintain good drainage. If plants become leggy late in summer, NC State recommends trimming back the top third to encourage new blooms and improve appearance.
