Create design onlineAbout Musica® Bicolor Dark Red Impatiens
Musica® Bicolor Dark Red is a double-flowered Impatiens walleriana selection in Danziger’s MUSICA™ series. Danziger lists a 10–15-inch height and 15–20-inch spread, but its metric spread range differs, so treat these as approximate planning dimensions. It is suited to semi-shaded pots, hanging baskets, window boxes, and landscape beds. [Danziger selection page](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/musica-bicolor-dark-red/)
## Growing Conditions
NC State Extension describes I. walleriana as a tropical perennial commonly grown as an annual in cooler climates. It grows best in partial to full shade and moist, organic, well-drained soil, with flowers from late spring until the first fall frost. ## Garden Use
The compact, branched, mounded habit makes this selection useful as a colorful low layer beneath taller plantings or for close-up displays in containers. Its dark red bicolor flowers are double; Danziger lists medium flower size and early flowering, and says pinching is unnecessary.
## Maintenance
Keep the root zone evenly moist without waterlogging, especially in warm weather or brighter sites. In frost-prone gardens, grow it as a seasonal annual or protect container plants before cold weather. Remove damaged growth as needed; routine pinching is not required.
