Musica™ Elegant Red Impatiens walleriana

Musica™ Elegant Red is an Impatiens walleriana selection in Danziger’s MUSICA™ series. Danziger describes the series as branched and compact with a mounded habit; its exact variety page lists height and width ranges of 10–15 inches and 15–20 inches. [Danziger’s Elegant Red page](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/musica-elegant-red/) gives the selected variety name and series measurements. ## Growing Conditions Place in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Iowa State Extension describes Impatiens walleriana for beds, containers, and hanging baskets, and identifies partial shade as an ideal exposure. [Iowa State’s impatiens guide](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/how-to/growing-impatiens-home-garden) provides home-garden guidance for the species. ## Garden Use The double flowers suit pots, hanging baskets, window boxes, and landscape plantings. Danziger lists these uses for the MUSICA™ series and notes that it performs under semi-shaded conditions. The published mature-size figures are ranges; actual plants vary with growing conditions. ## Maintenance Keep the soil moist and well drained, checking containers regularly as they dry faster than garden beds. Water when the surface begins to dry, and allow excess water to drain. Danziger notes that pinching is not necessary for the series.
