About Silhouette® Appleblossom

Silhouette® Appleblossom is a double-flowered Impatiens walleriana selection for shade. Syngenta’s exact 70003776 listing gives pink/rose blooms, a mounding habit, a 10–12-inch height and width, flowering from mid spring through summer, and USDA hardiness zone 11a. [Syngenta Flowers’ product page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70003776). ## Landscape use The series is described as a shade-loving option for containers and in-ground plantings, with double blooms that provide a continuing seasonal display. Syngenta also lists hanging-basket sizes, making this selection useful in shaded patio pots, baskets, and garden beds. ## Growing conditions Give it full shade, with moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. NC State Extension describes walleriana as best in part shade to full shade and notes that hot, dry spells can cause wilting and require extra water; avoid overwatering because it can cause rot. The species profile also describes a slightly acidic soil preference. See the [NC State Extension species profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/impatiens-walleriana/) for broader care details. ## Maintenance Water through hot, dry periods and keep the soil draining freely. If plants become leggy in late summer, NC State recommends trimming back the top third to encourage new blooms and improve appearance.
