Silhouette® Red Impatiens

Silhouette® Red is a red color variety in Syngenta Flowers’ Silhouette® impatiens series, identified as Impatiens walleriana and listed with code 70003778. The breeder lists a mounding habit, medium vigor, full shade exposure, 10–12 inch height and spread, and hardiness zone 11a; it describes double blooms continuously from spring to frost and use in containers or in-ground plantings ([Silhouette® Red product page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70003778); [2024–2026 annuals catalog, page 36](https://online.flippingbook.com/view/636494595/36)). ## Growing Conditions Give this selection full shade, as listed by the breeder. Keep growing medium evenly moist and well drained. Iowa State Extension’s [impatiens growing guide](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/how-to/growing-impatiens-home-garden) recommends checking container-grown plants regularly and watering when the soil surface begins to dry. ## Garden Use Plant in shade containers or in-ground beds. Its mounded form and double red blooms suit container displays and shaded garden plantings. Published garden height and spread are both 10–12 inches; actual growth varies with conditions. ## Maintenance Check pots frequently, especially in warm weather, and water as the surface dries so roots remain evenly moist. Use a free-draining mix and avoid letting the planting dry out completely.
