Super Elfin® Lilac is a standard color in PanAmerican Seed’s Super Elfin® single-impatiens series. The [current catalog](https://online.flippingbook.com/view/636494595/155) lists Lilac among the standard colors.
## Size and siting
A [2010 PanAmerican Seed series guide](https://www.panamseed.com/controls/MarketingPDF.aspx?blobid=541) gives 8–10 in. height and 12–14 in. spread, describing compact, basal-branching plants with abundant early blooms. Grow impatiens in part to full shade; too much sun can scorch foliage.
## Soil and water
Use moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic material and slightly acidic pH. The [NC State Extension plant guide](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/impatiens-walleriana/) notes that I. walleriana may wilt in hot, dry spells and need extra water then; it also cautions against overwatering.
## Growing season
The species generally flowers from late spring until the first fall frost and is hardy in USDA zones 10–11. It is perennial in tropical climates but commonly grown as an annual in colder regions.
## Maintenance
Keep the root zone evenly moist, especially in containers. If plants become leggy in late summer, trim about the top third to refresh growth.
