It describes compact, basal-branching plants with a 5–7-day flowering window and supplies the product as raw seed. ## Light and soil Impatiens walleriana grows best in part shade to full shade; too much sun can scorch its leaves. Use moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic material and slightly acidic pH. ## Growing season The species generally flowers from late spring until the first fall frost and is hardy in USDA zones 10–11.
