Super Elfin® XP Punch is a named Impatiens walleriana selection in PanAmerican Seed’s Super Elfin XP series. The 2010 breeder guide lists Punch among the XP varieties and gives series dimensions; a current grower listing also includes Punch in the XP group and describes the line as mounding and shade-growing. This record preserves its assigned selection identity without adding a product code or patent claim.
## Form and season
PanAmerican gives the XP series a height of 8–10 inches and spread of 12–14 inches; these are series ranges rather than selected numeric points. Hoods lists summer flowering, a mounding habit, edging, mass planting, and hanging baskets as XP-series attributes; NC State also describes common impatiens for containers and hanging baskets. ## Light and soil
NC State says I. walleriana performs best in part shade to full shade, in moist, well-drained soil with organic matter and slightly acidic pH. The tropical perennial is commonly grown as an annual, and dry heat calls for extra water; overwatering can cause rot. ## Maintenance
Keep moisture even while allowing drainage, and protect plants from cold. NC State recommends trimming back about one-third in late summer if growth becomes leggy; its species profile describes flowering from late spring until fall frost.
