Super Elfin® XP Salmon Impatiens

Super Elfin® XP Salmon is a named color in PanAmerican Seed’s F1 Super Elfin® XP impatiens series. The [2016 PanAmerican Seed catalog](https://www.panamseed.com/documents/catalogs/14520_PASKieft_2016Catalog-LowRes.pdf) lists XP Salmon among the series colors. ## Size and habit The catalog gives the XP series a height of 8–10 in. and spread of 12–14 in., with compact, basal-branching plants and a 5–7-day flowering window. It lists the series as supplied in raw seed. ## Light and soil Impatiens walleriana grows best in part shade to full shade; too much sun can scorch its leaves. Use moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic material and slightly acidic pH. ## Growing season The species generally flowers from late spring until the first fall frost and is hardy in USDA zones 10–11. It is perennial in tropical climates and commonly grown as an annual in colder regions. ## Maintenance Keep the root zone evenly moist, especially in containers, and avoid overwatering. If plants become leggy in late summer, trim about the top third to refresh growth.
