Xtreme™ Mix Impatiens

Xtreme™ Mix is a compact, mounding Impatiens walleriana seed selection in Syngenta’s Xtreme™ series. Its uniform branching and early flowering suit dense packs, pots, and shaded beds, while the 8–10 inch mature size keeps the display low and tidy. ## Light and flowering Syngenta lists the mix for full shade to part shade and reports flowering from mid-spring through summer. Plant it where it receives shade for most of the day, especially in warm weather. The mixed colors are useful in a container grouping or as a continuous carpet beneath taller foliage plants. The breeder’s [Xtreme Mix profile](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70007943) identifies the botanical species, series, product number, exposure, size, and flowering window. ## Placement Use the compact mound along a shaded border, in a bedding display, or in pots near a sheltered entry. Impatiens walleriana generally performs best in shade, and moisture-retentive soil helps maintain its quality; see [Illinois Extension’s impatiens guide](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/impatiens). ## Maintenance Keep the root zone evenly moist without leaving containers waterlogged, and remove tired plants at the end of the season. This is a tender annual selection rather than a cold-hardy perennial; Syngenta lists hardiness at Zone 11a.
