About Incrediball® Blush Smooth hydrangea

Incrediball Blush is a rounded smooth hydrangea with large, silvery-pink mophead flowers held on sturdy stems. It blooms on new wood from summer into fall and grows about 4–5 feet tall and wide. ## Landscape use Use it in a shrub border, mass planting, or as a flowering focal point; the long-lasting flower heads also work in fresh or dried arrangements. [The breeder](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/hydrangea/incrediball-blush-smooth-hydrangea-hydrangea-arborescens) lists USDA hardiness zones 3a–8a and describes the cultivar as a reblooming selection with strong stems. ## Growing conditions Plant it in part sun to sun. Average watering is listed by Proven Winners; steady moisture and well-drained, organic soil suit smooth hydrangeas. [NC State Extension’s Invincibelle-group guidance](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/hydrangea-arborescens-invincibelle-group/) notes full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained, high-organic-matter soil. ## Selection record The plant is the NCHA4 selection, listed on [Proven Winners’ product page](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/hydrangea/incrediball-blush-smooth-hydrangea-hydrangea-arborescens) as USPP 28,280 and Canadian plant grant 5,624. The [U.S. patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP28280P3/en) lists publication and grant on August 15, 2017. ## Maintenance Because it flowers on new wood, prune in early spring just as new growth begins, cutting the plant back by about one-third. Deadheading is not needed for it to continue flowering. Leave enough space for the mature 4–5-foot width.
