Interstella is a dense, mounding evergreen shrub reaching 3-4 feet in height and spread. It is celebrated for its exceptionally early and long-lasting display of ruby-red, bell-shaped flowers that emerge in late winter. Following the blooms, star-like bright red new foliage appears against a dark green backdrop. Highly shade-tolerant and deer-resistant, it thrives in moist, acidic, well-drained soils. It is ideal for woodland gardens, low borders, or as a striking container specimen.
