About Invincibelle Limetta® Smooth hydrangea

Invincibelle Limetta® is the trade name for the smooth hydrangea selection 'NCHA8'. Its rounded, compact habit and strong stems carry large flower heads that open lime green, lighten through green-white, then age jade green as the display continues into fall. ## Landscape Use This deciduous shrub suits a mixed border, foundation planting, small landscape, or large container. Proven Winners gives a mature height and spread of 3–4 feet and lists USDA Zones 3–8. The stems hold blooms upright, and the flowers are useful fresh or dried. The [Proven Winners Invincibelle Limetta profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/hydrangea/invincibelle-limetta-smooth-hydrangea-hydrangea-arborescens) provides the cultivar-specific size, season, and care information. ## Growing Conditions Plant in part sun to full sun; at least six hours of sun supports stronger stems and abundant flowering, while afternoon shade can help in hot climates. Average moisture and well-drained soil suit the shrub. It blooms on new wood, and deadheading is unnecessary. ## Maintenance In early spring, remove dead wood and cut the plant back by about one-third as new growth begins. Mulch to conserve moisture around its shallow roots. The selection name 'NCHA8' and U.S. Plant Patent 30,431 are recorded in the [patent publication](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP30431P3/en), granted April 23, 2019.
