Sidekick™ Heart Bronze Ipomoea

Sidekick™ Heart Bronze is a color variety in Syngenta’s Sidekick™ series of ornamental *Ipomoea batatas*. Its semi-trailing form suits summer combinations in containers or in-ground plantings; the [Syngenta product profile](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70038353) identifies this exact selection as code 70038353. ## Selection and site Syngenta gives this variety a mature garden height of 12–14 in and width of 30–36 in, with medium vigor and part sun or full sun exposure. It lists the plant as an annual and a heat lover, and notes that the color holds through intense summer heat. The name and product code distinguish Heart Bronze from other Sidekick color varieties. NC State Extension places *Ipomoea batatas* in Convolvulaceae and describes the species as a vigorous annual vine or groundcover for full sun or partial shade in loamy, well-drained, organic-rich soil. Those are species-level growing notes; the mature size and exposure above come from the exact Syngenta product entry. [NC State Extension’s species profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/ipomoea-batatas/). ## Maintenance Allow lateral room for the broad semi-trailing habit, or use a container where stems can extend beyond the rim. In mixed plantings, shorten stems when needed to keep neighboring plants visible.
