About Bearded Iris 'Glamazon'

Glamazon is a tall bearded iris registered by Barry Blyth in 2007, flowering in midseason with honey-butter standards and falls blended with soft rose. A lighter edge, bluish blaze beneath the tangerine-red beard and slight musky fragrance give the flower added detail; the American Iris Society lists a 36-inch stalk. [AIS cultivar record](https://wiki.irises.org/TbFthruJ/TbGlamazon) ## Flower and placement At roughly three feet, Glamazon fits a sunny middle or rear border and contributes a warm, layered focal point among other perennials. Its recorded midseason timing describes the iris bloom sequence; local calendar dates vary with climate. ## Site and planting Schreiner's recommends at least six hours of sun for most irises, with some shade useful in very hot climates. Use well-drained garden soil; plant the rhizome shallowly with its top exposed and roots spread down into the soil. Divide crowded clumps about every three to five years; Schreiner's suggests July through September according to local conditions and planting at least six weeks before hard frost. Water new divisions well and continue during prolonged dry weather as roots establish. [Iris bed care](https://www.schreinersgardens.com/pages/how-do-i-care-for-my-iris-beds).
