‘Rings True’ is a tall bearded iris introduced by Schreiner in 2016, with white standards and falls edged in pale lavender and blue-purple. Its midseason bloom carries the Emma Cook pattern on tall stems, adding a distinctive spring accent to a sunny perennial border.
## Flower and garden use
The ruffled flowers have snow-white falls with a defined blue-purple rim, pale lavender highlights on the standards, and contrasting yellow beards. Schreiner lists 37 inches tall and eight buds per stem. Place it where the upright leaves and spring flowers can be seen, such as in the middle or back of a sunny border or in a group with other bearded irises. The breeder’s [Rings True page](https://www.schreinersgardens.com/products/rings-true) gives its cultivar details; the [American Iris Society encyclopedia](https://wiki.irises.org/TbPthruT/TbRingsTrue) records its 2016 introduction and parentage.
## Growing conditions
Choose full sun and well-drained soil. Set the rhizome at or just above the soil surface so it can dry between rains; prolonged wetness encourages rot. Water new plantings while they establish, then reduce irrigation when conditions allow. [Penn State Extension’s iris guide](https://extension.psu.edu/german-bearded-iris) explains site preparation and rhizome planting.
## Maintenance
Remove faded stems and damaged foliage. Divide crowded clumps when flowering declines, replanting healthy rhizomes with room for the fans to expand. Schreiner reports no fragrance and no rebloom for this selection.
