About Bearded Iris 'Table For Two'

Table For Two is a tall bearded iris registered by Schreiner in 2016 and noted for very early bloom. Its standards shift from tawny brown toward violet at the midribs, contrasting with black-red falls, a white blaze around the beard, and yellow beards. [American Iris Society entry](https://wiki.irises.org/TbPthruT/TbTableForTwo) ## Flowering and form The cultivar record lists this selection at 36 inches (91 cm) and classifies it as a tall bearded iris. The color pattern spans the flower parts, from the warm standards to dark falls and bright beard details. ## Site and planting Schreiner’s bearded-iris guidance recommends at least six hours of sun in most climates, while allowing some shade in extremely hot areas. Plant in well-drained garden soil, with rhizomes set so their tops remain exposed and their roots spread downward. Cut bloom stalks near the base when all buds have finished, leave healthy foliage through summer, and remove diseased or brown leaves. Divide clumps before they become crowded, generally every three to five years; the guide gives July through September as a typical window. Water new rhizomes well and, if dry conditions continue, every seven to ten days until autumn rains begin.
