About Siberian Iris 'Pink Haze'

'Pink Haze' is a Siberian iris with butterfly-like flowers in lavender-pink, lightly marked with crimson and carried above upright, strap-shaped foliage. It is a named selection introduced by William McGarvey in 1980 from a seedling registered in 1969; the American Iris Society records a 38-inch height and midseason bloom. ## Seasonal role Use this tall, airy perennial in a sunny or partly shaded border, where the pink-lavender flowers can be seen above the leaf clump. Iowa State Extension lists the cultivar at 38 inches and describes its flowers as pink-lavender; Fieldstone Gardens reports a 3–8 USDA-zone range. An American Iris Society checklist notes rebloom reports from Tennessee, which should be treated as a regional observation rather than a general second-flush promise. Avoid assuming that the cultivar’s height or bloom timing will be identical in every climate. ## Maintenance Keep soil evenly moist through active growth. Leave the clump in place while flowering is reliable, then divide in fall or spring if the center becomes sparse.
