About Siberian Iris 'Snow Queen'

‘Snow Queen’ is a historic Siberian iris with ivory-white flowers marked by a small gold blotch. Sources report mature height around 25–30 inches, and the cultivar makes a clear spring accent in a sunny border. ## Flowers and placement The American Iris Society’s cultivar record traces ‘Snow Queen’ to 1900 and describes its white flowers and gold signal; a current [Kigi Nursery plant page](https://kiginursery.com/perennials/iris-sibirica-snow-queen-white-flower/) lists late-spring bloom and an average ten-year size of 25 by 25 inches. The society’s Siberian iris guidance recommends full sun for strongest flowering and moist but well-drained soil, particularly during spring growth. Use it in a perennial border or near a path where its pale flowers can be seen against darker foliage. ## Growing conditions Siberian irises prefer consistent moisture in active growth, while established plants can tolerate some drying. Mature size varies with site and age, so allow roughly 25–30 inches of height and about 25 inches of spread. ## Maintenance Water during prolonged dry spells, especially while flower stems are developing. Divide crowded clumps when flowering declines or the planting exceeds its space, and replant divisions promptly. See the [American Iris Society record](https://wiki.irises.org/Sib/SibSnowQueen) for cultivar history and general culture.
