'Swans in Flight' is a white-flowered Siberian iris with unusually broad, ivory blooms and small lemon-yellow signals on the falls. Its early-summer flowers make a bright vertical accent among the finer green leaves of a perennial border or waterside planting.
## Form and placement
Walters Gardens lists this cultivar at about 33 inches tall with an 18–24 inch spread, and rates it for USDA Zones 3–9. The breeder’s page describes full sun to partial shade, consistent water, and large white flowers suited to mass planting or cutting. ## Growing conditions
Siberian irises tolerate moist sites and can grow in ordinary garden soil if it does not dry out for long periods. Full sun generally gives the strongest flowering, while some afternoon shade can help in hot locations. Illinois Extension lists the species for full sun or partial shade and moist to wet, well-drained soils. [Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/siberian-iris)
## Maintenance
Water during dry spells, especially while flower stems and new foliage are developing. Let the clump remain undisturbed while bloom stays strong; divide in fall or spring when flowering declines or the center thins.
