About Flame of the Woods

Ixora coccinea is a dense, multi-branched evergreen shrub known for its rounded growth habit and glossy, leathery foliage. Native to Southern India and Sri Lanka, it produces stunning, tubular scarlet flowers in dense clusters throughout the year. It thrives in moist, acidic, well-drained soils and is widely used for hedges, screens, or foundation plantings in tropical climates. While it prefers full sun for optimal blooming, it can tolerate light shade during the day's heat.
