Create design onlineAbout Arabian Jasmine
Arabian jasmine is a frost-tender evergreen shrub with vine-like growth and intensely fragrant white flowers that open at night and fade pink as they age. With support, Monrovia lists it at 6–8 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, with summer-to-fall flowering that can last longer in warm climates ([Monrovia plant profile](https://www.monrovia.com/arabian-jasmine.html)).
## Seasonal Interest
The glossy green leaves provide a year-round backdrop for the fragrant flowers. Train the flexible stems on a trellis or espalier, or grow the plant in a container near a patio or entry where the scent can be enjoyed. Its white blooms are especially useful in warm-season gardens.
## Growing Conditions
Monrovia lists USDA zones 9–10 and full sun to partial sun. Use enriched, moist, well-drained soil; keep it evenly moist without leaving it soggy. In cooler climates, frost protection or container culture is appropriate because the plant is frost-tender. The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/58524/jasminum-sambac/details) also describes the species as an evergreen, twining or scrambling shrub with strongly scented flowers.
## Maintenance
Water regularly through establishment and continue to maintain even moisture. Fertilize before spring growth begins. Prune after flowering to shape or thin the plant, and provide support where a climbing form is wanted.
