Create design onlineAbout Jolene Jolene® Beautybush
Jolene Jolene® is a compact beautybush with star-shaped, light pink flowers and bright yellow throats that emerge along the stems in late spring and early summer. Proven Winners lists a mature height of 3–6 feet, a spread of 4–6 feet and hardiness in zones 4a–8b ([Proven Winners](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/kolkwitzia/jolene-jolene-beautybush-kolkwitzia-amabilis)).
## Garden Use
This smaller selection fits residential borders, foundation plantings and informal flowering hedges. Its mounded, naturally arching shape and flowers that attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds give it seasonal interest without requiring a large shrub bed.
## Growing Conditions
Plant in full sun to part sun and well-drained soil. Average water is suitable; the breeder notes that the shrub adapts to other soils and flowers best with more sun.
## Maintenance
Jolene Jolene blooms on old wood, so prune immediately after flowering if shaping is needed. Its natural form is attractive with little pruning; avoid routine hard cuts that remove next season’s flowering stems. The breeder lists U.S. Plant Patent 34,295 ([Proven Winners](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/kolkwitzia/jolene-jolene-beautybush-kolkwitzia-amabilis)).
