About Jolly Good Clematis

Jolly Good™ is the trade name for Clematis ‘Zojogo’, a deciduous climbing clematis with abundant light-purple flowers marked by magenta tones and creamy stamens. It flowers through summer and reaches about 6–7 feet tall with a 2–3 foot spread. ## Flowers and siting The [Proven Winners profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/clematis/jolly-good-clematis) lists zones 4–9, part-sun to sunny exposure, and border or container use. The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/269514/clematis-jolly-good-zojogo-ll/details) describes purple to lilac-pink flowers with a red-purple bar, and recommends moist but well-drained soil with cool, shaded roots. Train the vine onto a sturdy trellis, pergola, railing, or post. ## Growth The RHS places this selection in the Late Large-flowered group and describes mid- to late-summer flowering. Its compact outline works along a fence or in a mixed border where the vine has room to climb. ## Maintenance Proven Winners says Jolly Good flowers on new wood and recommends cutting stems back to about 2 feet in spring. Water regularly enough to keep soil moist while preserving good drainage.
