About Blue Point Juniper Tree

Blue Point is a densely branched, blue-green Chinese juniper with a broad pyramidal form that stays evergreen through the year. It makes a strong lawn specimen or tall screen where there is room for its mature size ([Monrovia plant profile](https://www.monrovia.com/blue-point-juniper.html)). ## Landscape Use Monrovia lists the selection at about 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide, while the University of Minnesota describes the same cultivar as densely branched and pyramidal at roughly those dimensions. The American Conifer Society records that Blue Point was selected and introduced by Monrovia Nursery in the early 1970s. Its even outline also suits an entry accent or formal topiary; use it sparingly in smaller gardens because it becomes a substantial upright evergreen. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Monrovia recommends watering when the top 2 inches of soil are dry, with deep regular watering through the first growing season; reduce frequency after establishment. The profile lists USDA zones 4–9 and notes heat and waterwise qualities. Avoid waterlogged sites. ## Maintenance Prune lightly to preserve the natural pyramid or shape the plant annually if a formal outline is wanted. Keep cuts within the leafy exterior, and water deeply during the establishment period.
