About Columnar Utah Juniper

Juniperus osteosperma, known as the Utah juniper, is a hardy evergreen conifer native to the arid American Southwest. It typically grows as a multi-stemmed shrub or small tree, reaching heights of 15 to 30 feet with a characteristic rounded or irregular crown. The foliage features light yellow-green, scale-like leaves, and the plant produces bluish-brown, berry-like cones. Well-adapted to dry, rocky soils and full sun, its bark was historically used for cordage and its berries for food.
