About Temple Juniper Tree

Juniperus rigida, or Temple Juniper, is a graceful evergreen reaching up to 30 feet. It features a loose, irregular habit with ascending branches and elegant weeping branchlets. Its foliage consists of sharply pointed, bright green needles in whorls of three, each marked by a distinct white stomatal band. This hardy species thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, showing great tolerance for drought and urban pollution. It is a prized choice for bonsai and traditional temple gardens.
