‘Tolleson's Weeping’ is a distinct weeping Rocky Mountain juniper selection with drooping branchlets and bluish foliage. The American Conifer Society calls it ‘Tolleson's Weeping Blue’, and Oregon State lists the related published name ‘Tolleson's Blue Weeping’ ([American Conifer Society](https://conifersociety.org/conifers/juniperus-scopulorum-tollesons-weeping-blue); [Oregon State University](https://landscapeplants.oregonstate.edu/plants/juniperus-scopulorum)).
## Landscape Use
Oregon State describes the named weeping form as about 20 feet tall by 10 feet wide, with descending branchlets and blue foliage. The American Conifer Society records it as an established selection and notes that it has been in commerce since the mid-twentieth century. Its flowing outline provides evergreen structure as a specimen, screen, or tall accent where there is room for mature growth. This is a substantial tree-form juniper rather than a low groundcover.
## Growing Conditions
Rocky Mountain junipers are adapted to open, well-drained sites in western landscapes. Oregon State lists Rocky Mountain juniper as hardy to USDA zone 3 and describes its natural habitat as dry, rocky ridges. Allow enough room for the spreading, pendulous branches and avoid poorly drained planting locations.
## Maintenance
Water new plants during establishment and adjust irrigation to rainfall and soil drainage. Remove dead or damaged branches selectively; preserve the natural weeping outline rather than shearing it into a rigid shape.
