Poco™ Yellow Red Hot Poker

POCO™ ‘Yellow’ is a compact, clump-forming red hot poker with upright grassy leaves and sulfur-yellow flower spikes. Terra Nova lists a 15-inch foliage height, 16-inch spread and 21-inch flowering height, with flowers from July through October in USDA zones 6–9 ([Terra Nova](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/kniphofia-poco-yellow/)). ## Garden Use Use this perennial in the front of a sunny border, small gardens or containers, where its vertical flower stems add a clear yellow accent. It is part of the POCO™ series and is listed as a cut flower and deer resistant. ## Growing Conditions Give it full sun and average, well-drained garden soil. Keep the crown out of standing water, especially through winter. Regular moisture supports flowering; established red hot pokers can tolerate drier intervals, though blooming may lessen. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and extended summer dry spells.
