Create design onlineAbout Kodiak® Orange Diervilla
Kodiak® Orange is a spreading Diervilla shrub grown for summer flowers and a changing foliage display. Clusters of yellow flowers appear in summer, while new leaves and autumn foliage add orange and red tones; plants mature at about 3–4 feet tall and wide. ## Garden Use
This hardy North American native works in borders and mass plantings, including sites with dry shade. It tolerates a wide range of light, though foliage color is strongest where it receives some sun. The flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and deer generally leave the shrub alone. [Proven Winners](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/diervilla/kodiak-orange-diervilla-x)
## Growing Conditions
Grow in full sun through shade in average garden soil. Once established, the shrub tolerates dry conditions and can help cover a bank or fill a challenging shaded area. Give it enough room for its natural spreading habit.
## Maintenance
This selection blooms on new wood. If shaping is needed, trim lightly before spring growth begins, then let the shrub develop its summer flowers and fall color.
