Muskogee Crape Myrtle Tree

Muskogee is a large, rounded crape myrtle with long clusters of light lavender-pink flowers in summer and fall. Its exfoliating gray-tan bark and red autumn foliage keep the tree interesting after bloom. ## Form and placement Allow room for a small tree: published mature estimates range from about 15–20 feet tall by 15 feet wide to 20–30 feet tall and 10–15 feet wide. Plant it as a specimen or in a broad lawn or street planting, where its canopy and bark can be seen. ‘Muskogee’ is a mildew-resistant hybrid of *Lagerstroemia indica* and *L. fauriei*, developed in the U.S. National Arboretum’s hybrid program. ## Growing conditions Choose full sun for strong flowering and provide moist, well-drained soil.
