Create design onlineAbout Bandana® Red Lantana
Bandana® Red is a compact, mounding lantana with red flower clusters and a 14–16 inch garden height and width. Syngenta lists this exact selection as product 70054196, with full-sun exposure, pollinator value and hardiness zone 11a. It flowers from spring into summer and suits seasonal containers, borders and warm-climate landscapes.
## Landscape Use
Plant it near patios or along a sunny bed edge where its compact form and red blooms can be seen. The flowers are useful in pollinator plantings, and the upright mounded habit works in mixed containers as well as garden beds. See the [Syngenta Bandana® Red page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70054196) for the exact product identity, dimensions and current availability.
## Growing Conditions
Choose full sun and soil that drains well. Lantana tolerates heat and dry periods after roots establish, but give new plantings regular water while they settle in. In frost-free climates it may persist as a shrub; elsewhere it is usually grown as a warm-season annual. The [North Carolina Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/lantana-camara/) describes lantana’s pollinator value and its tendency to become weedy in some tropical regions. Foliage and unripe berries can harm livestock, and leaf contact may irritate sensitive skin.
## Maintenance
Water regularly during establishment and during extended dry spells. Remove damaged stems and lightly trim to maintain a rounded outline. Keep lantana from escaping into nearby natural areas where it can become invasive.
