About Bandolero™ Lemon Lantana

Bandolero™ Lemon is a medium-vigor lantana with rounded clusters of yellow and gold flowers. Syngenta describes a mounding plant that reaches 18–24 inches in height and spread, flowers from mid-spring through summer, and performs in full sun. Its larger mature size and showy blooms make it a useful choice for substantial containers and sunny landscape plantings. ## Flowers and placement The bright flower clusters bring a warm accent to borders, patio pots, and hanging baskets. Syngenta lists the variety as pollinator friendly and heat loving, with a hardiness range of USDA zones 9a–11a. In cooler regions, it is best treated as a warm-season annual; perennial use is limited to the mildest climates. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun and use moist, well-drained soil. Lantana tolerates heat and can handle short dry spells once established, although consistent moisture supports repeat flowering, especially in a large container during hot weather. Give the plant room for its 18–24 inch spread and use a pot large enough to support the mature root system. ## Maintenance Water container-grown plants when the mix begins to dry and check pots more often during hot, windy weather. Trim stems lightly to keep the mound within its space. North Carolina State Extension lists lantana as moderately poisonous if eaten and notes that leaves and unripe green berries can irritate skin; keep it away from grazing animals and discourage children and pets from eating it.
