Gem™ Compact White Sapphire is a compact lantana selected for bright white blooms and a well-branched, low profile. The [Danziger cultivar page](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/gem-compact-white-sapphire/) lists it at 8–10 inches tall and 10–12 inches wide, with early flowering and late-spring-to-summer timing. Its small scale suits patio pots, hanging baskets, groundcover plantings and sunny landscape edges.
## Landscape Use
Place White Sapphire where its white flowers can brighten a mixed container or contrast with stronger colors. The compact habit fits smaller spaces, while the listed landscape, groundcover and basket uses allow it to spill gently over a container rim or fill a sunny bed edge. Danziger notes that Gem Compact is suited to bright, warm conditions and keeps its color in hot weather.
## Growing Conditions
Grow lantana in full sun and well-drained soil. Water consistently while plants establish, then allow the soil surface to dry slightly between deep waterings. The [North Carolina Extension lantana profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/lantana-camara/) describes its pollinator value and cautions that lantanas can become invasive in tropical regions. Foliage and unripe berries can harm livestock if eaten, and leaf contact may irritate sensitive skin.
## Maintenance
Remove damaged stems and lightly trim to keep the plant within its space. Water during extended dry weather, especially in baskets and pots that dry quickly. In frost-free areas lantana may persist as a shrub; in colder climates it is usually grown as a warm-season annual.
