About Landscape Bandana® Red Lantana

Landscape Bandana® Red is a vigorous, spreading lantana with bright red flowers. The [Syngenta product page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70054204) lists a height of 16–20 inches, a spread of 32–36 inches and hardiness zone 11a. Its full-sun exposure, summer-long bloom and heat and drought tolerance suit broad sunny beds and large containers. ## Landscape Use Use this cultivar to cover a sunny slope, fill a bed edge or add a strong color accent to a large patio pot. Syngenta describes Landscape Bandana® as spreading up to three feet, with blooms that continue through summer. Its vigorous habit works well where a low planting can fill open ground. ## Growing Conditions Grow lantana in full sun and well-drained soil. Water new plantings regularly while roots establish; established plants tolerate hot weather and short dry spells. The [North Carolina Extension lantana profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/lantana-camara/) notes lantana’s pollinator value and cautions that some forms can become invasive in tropical regions. Foliage and unripe berries can harm livestock if eaten, and leaf contact may irritate sensitive skin. ## Maintenance Trim stems that extend beyond the intended area and remove damaged growth. Water deeply during prolonged drought, then let the soil drain. In frost-free regions lantana may persist as a shrub; in colder areas it is usually grown as a warm-season annual.
