[USDA GRIN](https://npgsweb.ars-grin.gov/gringlobal/methodaccession?id1=118045&id2=493911) records Lathyrus odoratus 'Winter Elegance' as accession PI 592388. This is a named annual sweet-pea seed selection, not the unselected species or a specific color clone. ## Idaho — BLM fire resistance score 10 The [Southern Idaho master database](https://pocatello.gov/DocumentCenter/View/609/Fire-Resistance-of-Plants--Master-Database-for-Southern-Idaho-PDF), printed page 39, assigns this source row score 10. The guide names 'Winter Elegance' in its perennial table, with 36 by 36 inches, zone 3, sun to partial shade, low water and spring bloom. Its table placement does not make this annual plant perennial. The separate Lathyrus spp. row scores 9 and does not replace this score-10 named selection. Remove dry growth and manage the actual annual plant’s lifecycle. This source-specific score does not mean fireproof; preserve other publications and their ratings separately.
