Create design onlineAbout Spanish Eyes Lavandula
Spanish Eyes is a tender fern-leaf lavender with finely divided foliage and upright flower stems. [PanAmerican Seed's exact product page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/037300001009291/lavandula-spanish-eyes/) lists it at 16–25 inches tall and 20–30 inches wide, with flowers continuing from summer into late summer until frost.
## Form and placement
The selection is Lavandula multifida, commonly called fern-leaf lavender; its foliage is finely cut and fernlike. PanAmerican lists full sun and USDA Zones 7a–10b. The species adapts well to containers, and this tender perennial can be grown as an annual where winters are too cold. [NC State Extension](https://newcropsorganics.ces.ncsu.edu/herb/lavender-history-taxonomy-and-production/) distinguishes its feathery leaves from the narrower foliage of many lavenders.
## Maintenance
Choose a sunny site with free-draining soil. Water during establishment, then avoid keeping the root zone wet. A container makes it easier to move the plant to shelter during cold weather; otherwise, treat it as an annual beyond its listed hardiness range. Remove faded stems to keep the plant tidy.
