About Bandera Deep Rose Lavandula

Bandera Deep Rose is a compact seed-grown Spanish lavender with a mounded habit and strong rose-pink bract color. [PanAmerican Seed's exact product page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/037307001004686/lavandula-bandera-deep-rose/) lists 7–9 inches tall by 10–12 inches wide, USDA Zones 7a–10b, full sun, and flowering from early spring through summer. It describes heavy, long-flowering blooms and a secondary flush; NC State Extension describes the selection's dark mauve flower heads and pink bracts. ## Form and placement This small evergreen lavender fits pots, edging, rock gardens, and the front of sunny beds. Spanish lavender's aromatic foliage and bracted flower spikes draw bees and other pollinators. It needs excellent drainage and good air movement, especially in humid climates. ## Maintenance Water regularly during establishment, then allow the soil to dry between watering. Shear lightly after flowering to maintain a compact mound, and avoid cutting into old woody stems. Protect plants in cold, wet winter climates; the listed USDA range is 7a–10b.
