Javelin™ Forte Deep Purple Lavandula

Javelin™ Forte Deep Purple is an upright Spanish lavender with large, brightly colored blooms on strong, well-branched plants. Syngenta lists it at 14–20 inches high by 12–16 inches wide, for full sun and USDA zones 7a–9a, with flowering from mid-spring through summer. ## Plant Character This is the Deep Purple color selection in the Javelin Forte line, identified by Syngenta product code 70051469. The breeder highlights its strong stems, medium vigor, and extended color display, making it useful in sunny containers and warm-climate borders. Syngenta also describes it as pollinator-friendly. ## Growing Conditions Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil. Spanish lavender is better suited to mild climates than to cold, wet winters; container growing allows extra protection where winter temperatures fall below its listed range. Leave room for the upright form to branch. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and reduce irrigation when plants are settled, allowing the soil to drain between watering. Remove finished flower stems and trim lightly to keep a tidy shape, avoiding deep cuts into old wood.
