About Javelin™ Fortissimo Purple Lavandula

Javelin Fortissimo Purple is a vigorous Spanish lavender with upright stems and large purple flowerheads. Syngenta describes strong branching, garden performance, and continuous color from spring into fall. ## Flowers and form This selection grows about 14–20 inches tall and 12–16 inches wide. Syngenta lists flowering from mid spring through summer, and USDA zones 7a–9a. The RHS describes Spanish lavender flowerheads as fragrant and distinctive, with purple bracts above aromatic gray-green foliage. ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. The upright habit and vigorous branching make this cultivar useful in sunny borders and patio containers. Spanish lavender is suited to warm sites; in colder climates, container growing allows shelter during winter. ## Maintenance Trim after flowering to keep the plant compact, and avoid cutting back into old wood.
