About Lavender 'Little Bee'

Little Bee is a named selection in a series of compact Spanish lavenders. The Little Bee series includes color-named forms such as Deep Purple and Blue and White, so select the named form when a particular flower color is wanted. ## Flowers and foliage Spanish lavender is an evergreen shrub with aromatic foliage and fragrant, bracted flowerheads. It flowers over spring and summer, while individual Little Bee selections differ in their flower color and exact size. A nursery factsheet describes the Deep Purple form as a compact, upright plant with silver foliage and a 40 cm height and spread. ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. Spanish lavender suits a warm, sheltered position; where winters are cold, container culture can make seasonal protection easier. Avoid waterlogged soil, especially in cool weather. ## Maintenance Trim after flowering to maintain a tidy shape, without cutting into old woody stems.
