Violeta™ Purple XL Lavandula

Violeta™ Purple XL is Syngenta’s upright Spanish lavender selection, sold as product 70070515. Its large purple bicolor flower heads repeat from early spring through fall, giving containers and sunny borders a long flowering season. Syngenta describes the selection as vigorous and pollinator friendly. [Syngenta Flowers](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/emea/product/flower/70070515) ## Size and Siting The breeder lists garden dimensions of 20–35 cm tall by 12–16 cm wide, approximately 8–14 inches by 5–6 inches. Give it a bright position with sun and room for airflow around the foliage. The compact width suits a pot or the front of a warm, well-drained border; avoid keeping the root zone continuously wet. ## Seasonal Interest The breeder lists flowering from early spring through fall and describes repeat flowering with large, high-quality flowers. The listed hardiness rating is presented as 4a–4b without identifying a USDA scale, so use local cold-climate guidance for overwintering rather than treating that figure as a USDA-zone recommendation. In colder regions, growing it in a container makes seasonal protection easier. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and during prolonged dry spells, while allowing excess water to drain. Remove spent flower stems to keep the plant tidy and encourage continued display.
