Sensational™ Lavender Plant

Sensational!® is a compact lavandin selection with unusually large purple flower heads, sturdy branching stems, and broad silver foliage. Peace Tree Farm presents it as a member of the Phenomenal® family, while Concept Plants identifies the breeder as B&S Plants LLC and records the protected selection as Tesseract, PP31,786. The thick silver leaves and large purple spikes carry a sweet floral scent with relatively little camphor. ## Plant Character This upright, densely branched lavender makes a fragrant feature in a sunny border, pollinator planting, or large container. Peace Tree lists USDA Zones 5–9 and a broad mature size range of 12–36 inches in both height and spread, reflecting variation across sites and growing conditions. The selection is protected by U.S. Plant Patent PP31786. ## Growing Conditions Give Sensational! full sun and excellent drainage. Water while it establishes, then let the soil dry between irrigations; avoid waterlogged ground. It is suited to hot sites and is reported to tolerate humidity better than many lavenders. The flowering season can extend across a wide geographic range, with repeat blooms following a cutback. ## Maintenance Harvest or deadhead flower stems in summer and reshape lightly in fall, leaving leafy growth on the plant.
