About Lavender Exceptional™

Exceptional™ is a white-flowered lavandin with broad silver foliage and strong, upright stems. Concept Plants identifies its cultivar denomination as ‘Hillav’ (U.S. Plant Patent 35,846), credits Hillier/Traven as breeder, and lists a mature size up to 32 inches high and wide with flowering from midsummer into autumn. [Concept Plants’ Exceptional plant profile](https://www.conceptplants.com/varieties/lavandula-intermedia-exceptional-hillav) ## Garden use Its sturdy stems and long flowering period suit sunny borders, containers, and cut-flower plantings. The white panicles contrast well with the silver leaves, which remain attractive outside the flowering season. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun and well-drained soil; avoid waterlogged ground. The RHS profile describes the selection as evergreen, fragrant, and drought resistant once established, with flowers from late spring or early summer until frost. Avoid cutting into old wood.
