About Lavender Chiffon® Hibiscus

Rose of Sharon 'Lavender Chiffon' is a deciduous Hibiscus syriacus shrub in the Chiffon series. Its large, double lavender flowers open through summer, bringing a long seasonal display to sunny borders and informal screens; see the [RHS selection profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/138240/hibiscus-syriacus-lavender-chiffon-notwoodone-chiffon-series-d/details) and its [plant patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP12619P2/en). ## Size and siting Allow room for the mature height range of 4.9–8.2 Ft. and spread of 3.3–4.9 Ft.. Plant in full sun for the best flowering, or light partial shade in hot locations. The upright shrub works as a specimen, in a mixed border, or as part of a flowering screen. ## Soil and water Use fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Water thoroughly while establishing and during long dry spells; a light mulch helps conserve moisture without covering the stem base. ## Seasonal interest This deciduous shrub leafs out in spring and flowers through summer. Its double blooms stand out against green foliage and add structure to late-season planting. ## Maintenance Prune in late winter or early spring to shape the framework and remove dead or crossing stems. Refresh mulch each spring and water during prolonged heat.
