About New Madrid® Rose - Lavender stoechas

New Madrid® Rose is a color selection in Green Fuse’s Spanish lavender series, with rosy flower bracts above aromatic foliage. The breeder describes the series as early flowering and uniform, with larger flowers and bracts than earlier New Madrid selections. ## Plant Character Green Fuse lists New Madrid® Rose among the series colors and gives a garden height of 12–18 inches with Zone 7 hardiness. Its showy terminal bracts make it a useful seasonal accent in a sunny border or container, where the color can be seen at close range. The series’ upright flower spikes also add height above the low foliage. ## Growing Conditions Spanish lavender generally performs best in sun and freely draining soil. Avoid persistently wet conditions, especially through winter, and provide air circulation around the foliage. Hardiness and evergreen behavior vary with local winter conditions, so gardeners in colder areas can grow it in a pot and shelter it during severe cold. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stems to keep the plant tidy and encourage a fresh flush where the season permits. Trim lightly after flowering, keeping cuts within leafy growth rather than cutting back into bare woody stems. See the [Green Fuse catalog](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/GreenFuse-Catalog-2024-25-lr.pdf) for the named series and its published height and hardiness.
