About Western Star™ Taurus Shasta Daisy

Western Star™ Taurus is a compact Shasta daisy with dark green foliage and single white flowers centered in yellow. The named selection is especially noted for large blooms and early flowering; it grows best in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. ## Garden profile The Royal Horticultural Society describes a clump-forming habit and a long summer flowering period when spent flowers are removed. Its listed mature range is about 4–20 inches tall and 1.6–3.3 feet wide; size varies with growing conditions. Syngenta’s [Western Star crop manual](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/emea/sites/g/files/kgtney2391/files/file_field/import/field_media_link/sites/g/files/zhg791/f/media/2020/02/12/leucanthemum_maximum.pdf) places Taurus in the larger-flowered Western Star group and gives June–August as the production flowering window. ## Maintenance Plant in full sun in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Deadhead regularly to extend summer bloom, then cut flowering stems to ground level when flowering finishes. Divide clumps every two to three years to maintain vigor.
