About Becky Shasta Daisy

Becky is a tall Shasta daisy with sturdy stems topped by white petals around golden-yellow centers. The upright clump brings a long summer display that can continue into fall, and its flowers stand up well to wind and rain. Plant it in a sunny perennial border or cottage garden, where butterflies visit the blooms; the [Chicago Botanic Garden profile](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/leucanthemum-x-superbum-becky-becky-shasta-daisy) describes three-foot flowering stems and a two-foot clump. ## Growing Conditions Becky grows best in full sun and moist but well-drained soil. Winter drainage is especially important: wet soil can shorten the life of Shasta daisies. The [University of Illinois Extension](https://web.extension.illinois.edu/hortanswers/plantdetail.cfm?PlantID=733&PlantTypeID=2) lists the cultivar at about three feet tall and recommends deadheading to extend bloom. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and during prolonged dry spells. Remove spent flowers to encourage a longer display, then cut back old stems after flowering. Divide crowded clumps when vigor declines, replanting into well-drained soil.
