About Real Dream Shasta Daisy

Real Dream is a tight-clumping Shasta daisy with layered cream-yellow petals around a gold center. Its flowers open in early summer and continue into fall, with the petals fading paler as they mature. ## Garden profile The patented selection has strong stems and works well in perennial borders and cutting gardens. A one-year plant grown in a one-gallon container measured about 16 inches tall and 14 inches wide; allow room for the established clump to develop. It grows best in full sun and rich, moist soil that drains well, and is hardy in USDA Zones 5–9. The layered blooms change from creamy yellow toward white, adding a soft color transition to mixed plantings. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and extended dry periods, keeping the soil evenly moist without leaving it saturated. Remove faded flowers to extend the display, and divide mature clumps in spring every two or three years to maintain vigor. The [plant patent](https://patents.justia.com/patent/PP25664) documents the cultivar’s flowering, habit and one-year container measurements; the [Chicago Botanic Garden profile](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/leucanthemum-x-superbum-real-dream-real-dream-shasta-daisy) lists garden uses and hardiness.
