About Whisker White - Leucanthemum x superbum

Whisker® White is a white-flowered Shasta daisy selected for large, distinctive blooms and a long flowering display. Green Fuse describes it as a “crazy daisy” type, with 5–6-inch flowers that continue through the garden growing season. ## Garden use and appearance The breeder’s 2024–25 catalog lists a garden height of 15–18 inches and USDA zone 4. The large flowers make Whisker® White a focal point near the middle of a perennial border or in a cutting garden; its white petals stand out against green foliage and darker neighboring plants. Green Fuse also identifies the selection as day-length neutral and says it requires no cooling hours to bloom, traits that help explain its predictable production schedule. Those production notes do not set a landscape planting date. [Green Fuse Botanicals catalog, Leucanthemum section](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/GreenFuse-Catalog-2024-25-lr.pdf) ## Growing conditions Provide full sun or light shade and well-drained soil. Avoid winter-wet sites. Water during establishment and extended dry periods, allowing the soil to drain between irrigation. North Carolina Extension’s [Shasta daisy profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/leucanthemum-x-superbum/common-name/shasta-daisy/) gives general guidance for the hybrid; cultivars differ in height, flower size, and performance. ## Maintenance Deadhead faded blooms for a tidier display and divide established clumps every two to three years if they become crowded.
